Sharing the Gospel with Kids

In WOL Kids, we have an incredible opportunity to share the Gospel with kids and encourage them to follow Jesus. We understand that it can be tricky to know exactly how to talk about salvation and baptism with kids, but we are here to help guide you along the way. Check out this video as well as the resources below for an overview of how to share the Gospel with kids, lead them in the salvation prayer, and talk with them about the decision they made to follow Christ!

Gospel Presentation

GOD RULES – The Bible tells us God created everything, including you and me. He is in charge of everything.

WE SINNED
– In the book of Genesis, Adam and Eve chose chose to disobey God, which then led to what the Bible calls sin. Sin separates us from God and ends in death. What is sin? Sin is anything we think, say, or do that God does not want us to think, say, or do. Everyone! Sin is all the wrongs we do, the bad decisions we make, all the ways we disobey God.

GOD PROVIDED – God sent Jesus, the perfect solution to our sin problem, to rescue us from death and restore our relationship with Him. He died on the cross to wash away all of our sin. It’s something we, as sinners, could never earn our own. Jesus alone saves us.

JESUS GIVES – Jesus died on the cross for our sins, but then He rose again three days later and lives on forever in Heaven. Through Jesus we are forgiven for our sins and are welcomed into God’s family forever! What an incredible gift!

WE RESPOND – Now, God gave us Jesus so we could have the chance to be close to God again. All we have to do is respond to Jesus by believing Him and turn away from our sin. We have to CHOOSE to follow Jesus.

ABC'S TO BECOMING A FOLLOWER OF JESUS

A:  Agree that you have messed up and Repent by turning from our sins.

B:   Believe that Jesus died and resurrected to forgive our sins.

C:   Choose to follow Jesus and let him lead our lives.

SALVATION PRAYER

Is a child ready to accept Christ as their Savior? Below is a simple salvation prayer to have them repeat after you.

Lord Jesus,

I want to know you personally.
I’m sorry for going my own way. Please forgive me for all of my sins.
Thank you for dying on the cross and giving me eternal life.
I agree to turn from my old ways and follow you as my Lord and Savior.
Please come into my life by the power of your Holy Spirit, and make me the person you want me to be.
Amen

After they’ve prayed this with you, make sure to celebrate the huge decision they just made! To explain the child’s decision to follow Jesus further, reassure them that they now have eternal life, all their sins are forgiven, they can have a personal relationship with Jesus, and God will never ever leave them.

HOW TO PRAY WITH YOUR KID DAILY
